Seminary Grad Shares Journey to Ordination

On June 26, 2026, Paul Chung was officially ordained as associate pastor of the Orange Central Korean church. For him, this ordination service was a way to celebrate every important person and moment that has contributed to his journey and the way God used them.

His loving and service-oriented church community, as well as his parents, were also major influences. “Most Korean Americans go through the pressure of having to find a job that gives you a lot of money and stability, usually pre-med, pre-vet, or law,” said Chung. His father never pressured him to go these routes, telling Chung that the most important thing in life was to serve God. He graduated from Pacific Union College with a bachelor’s in theology and completed seminary training at Andrews University.
