Soul Shop is a training specific for faith communities to help start the conversation about suicidal desperation, respond with support and help facilitate connections to maintain safety.

This training is seven hours and registration costs include a participant manual and supplementary materials with community resources. Lunch will be provided.

The training will not equip you to be a mental health specialist.
Thu, 03 Sep 2026 18:36:24 +0000 Amador Family: A Message of Gratitude and Hope http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/70286
Dear Andrews University faculty and staff,

Words are not enough to express our profound gratitude to God and each of you for the extraordinary love, kindness, prayers and support you have shown to our family throughout this painful journey following the passing of my beloved husband, Dr. Luis Amador.

From the moment we began walking through this difficult season, we have felt surrounded by a community that did not simply offer words of sympathy, but truly carried us through prayer, practical support, presence and genuine Christian love. Every message, phone call, visit, meal, gesture of kindness and prayer has been a tangible reminder that we are not walking this valley alone.

Luis devoted much of his life to teaching, ministry, and serving the Lord and His Church. Andrews University was not simply a place where he worked; it was a community to which he gave his heart, his gifts and his calling. For our family, therefore, the love we have received from this community has been deeply meaningful.

As we grieve, we also hold firmly to the hope that is found in Christ. Our sorrow is real, but so is our hope. We believe in the God whom Luis loved and served—the God who is faithful, whose promises never fail, and whose love is stronger than death.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I would also like to leave you with a word of encouragement:

God is faithful.

Whatever season you may be facing—whether joy, uncertainty, loss, exhaustion, unanswered questions or new beginnings—please remember that our Heavenly Father has not changed. His promises remain sure. He sees His children, He knows their needs, He hears their prayers and He is always working, even when we cannot see what He is doing.

The God who sustained us through these days will sustain you through yours.

May we continue to trust Him with the faith of His beloved children, knowing that He will fulfill every promise He has made to us. We may not always understand His timing or His ways, but we can always trust His heart.

One day, by God's grace, the promise will be fulfilled: death will be no more, sorrow will end and we will see our loved ones again. Until that glorious day, may we encourage one another, carry one another and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

Thank you, Andrews University faculty and staff, for being the hands and heart of Christ to our family during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. We will never forget your love.

May the Lord richly bless each of you, your families, your ministries, your classrooms and your service. May He give you strength for every responsibility, wisdom for every decision, peace in every storm, and the deep assurance that you are His beloved children and that His promises are sure.

With profound gratitude and Christian love,

Yanet, Dafne and Ezer
Thu, 03 Sep 2026 17:42:50 +0000 Dining Services Hours for the Labor Day Holiday http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/70281
Please note the Dining Services Hours for the Labor Day Holiday.
Thu, 03 Sep 2026 16:49:51 +0000 Spirit Week: Andrews University Day http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/69704 Tue, 01 Sep 2026 16:39:02 +0000
